A good southern favorite is making KoolAid Pickles. It's a great snack item for anytime and anyone. We had a guest "chef" help us make our first batch of KoolAid Pickles on our cooking show.
From what we learned, you can do this with any type or slice of pickle. You can mix up the KoolAid flavors. It's all very versatile to make it how you like. The hardest part of this recipe is letting the pickles sit for 2 weeks before enjoying them!
Mix and match types of pickles and types of KoolAid. Most seem to use Dill pickle spears and Black Cherry Koolaid
1 jar of Dill Pickles - spears or slices
1 Package of KoolAid - any flavor
1/4 to 1/2 cup sugar
In a sauce pan, drain pickle juice and put at medium heat until boiling. Leave pickles in their original jar
Add Koolaid Packet and sugar to sauce pan and stir until dissolved. It depends on the size of jar - 16oz jar uses 1/4 cup. You can also add more depending on your taste.
Pour koolaid mix over your pickles. Put lid on.
Once pickles are cooled, place in refrigerator for 2 weeks. Then enjoy! They will stay good for 2-3 months
